Raw Dog Foods

Raw dog food subscriptions and delivery in the UK

A raw subscription delivers frozen, portioned food for your dog on a repeat plan. It is the easiest way to feed raw and usually the dearest. Here is what it costs per day and per month for a 10, 20 and 30 kg dog against buying frozen blocks from a shop, what you are paying for, and what to check before you sign up.

The short answer

Bella + Duke is the full subscription: you tell it about your dog, it sends portioned complete raw and takes payment on repeat. Paleo Ridge and Natures Menu deliver direct, with Natures Menu offering a subscriber discount. All three cost £6.49 to £7.78 a kg. Shop frozen completes from Nutriment and Durham Animal Feeds cost £4.38 to £4.49 a kg. The difference for a 20 kg dog is about £42 a month, which buys delivery, portioning and never running out.

Price per day and per month, by dog size

Figures use each brand's published or sampled price per kg and a normally active adult eating 2.5 percent of body weight, so 250 g, 500 g and 750 g a day. Subscription brands quote per dog rather than per kg, so your quote will differ with age, activity and delivery frequency. Prices last checked 31 October 2026.

For comparison, Bella + Duke's own claim is from £1.18 a day for a small dog, and a third party sample put a 14 kg adult at about £2.57 a day, which sits between the 10 kg and 20 kg columns above. The arithmetic is consistent.

The non raw subscriptions people compare against

Two delivered foods come up in every raw subscription search and are not raw. Pure Pet Food is dehydrated: you add warm water, it needs no freezer, and a 14 kg adult was sampled at about £2.57 a day. Tuggs is fresh cooked in pouches, delivered frozen, at roughly £2.76 to £4.45 a day for a 15 kg dog depending on recipe. Both remove the bacteria question that comes with raw and both cost about the same as or more than a raw subscription. The evidence page compares raw, kibble and fresh cooked on more than price.

Seven things to check before you subscribe

  1. The grams behind the price. Compare the daily portion the brand proposes with the calculator. If the brand's portion is 20 percent smaller, so is its per day price, and your dog will be hungry.
  2. Ongoing price, not introductory. First box discounts of 30 to 50 percent are common. Find the renewal price before you compare.
  3. Delivery area. Mainland UK is standard; Highlands, islands and Northern Ireland are often excluded or surcharged.
  4. Cut off and cancellation. The date after which the next box is charged, and how you cancel (some require a call or a form rather than a button).
  5. Box size against your freezer. A monthly box for a 30 kg dog is 22 kg of frozen food. Fortnightly boxes are smaller and sometimes dearer.
  6. Complete or complementary. Most subscription food is complete. Check, because a complementary mince needs bone and organ adding.
  7. What happens when the dog's weight changes. Puppies especially: the portion should move with the dog, and the plan should let you change it without a new sign up.

Delivered raw, three ways

Bella + Duke is the full subscription. Natures Menu delivers with a subscribe and save discount and is in Pets at Home if you would rather collect. Nutriment delivers in bulk and is the cheapest complete here per kg.

Who a subscription suits

  • Suits: owners with no raw stockist nearby, small or medium dogs where the monthly gap is a few pounds a week, anyone who has tried DIY and found the weighing and ordering a chore, and first month raw feeders who want the amount decided for them.
  • Does not suit: large and giant dogs, where the gap over shop blocks reaches £63 a month or more; multi dog households; anyone with a chest freezer and a stockist within reach, who should read the budget guide instead.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Is a raw dog food subscription worth it?

It depends on what you are paying for. Against the cheapest shop frozen complete, a delivered subscription costs a 20 kg dog about £42 more a month at current prices. For that you get portions sized for your dog, delivery to the door, no stockist visits and no weighing. If you have no raw stockist nearby, a small freezer or little time, that is a fair trade. If you have a pet shop with a raw freezer round the corner and a chest freezer, buying in bulk is cheaper and the subscription is paying for convenience you do not need.

Which UK raw dog food brands deliver?

Bella + Duke delivers portioned complete raw on a repeat plan. Paleo Ridge delivers direct, frozen. Natures Menu sells online with a subscribe and save discount and is also in Pets at Home and independent stockists. Nutriment delivers direct and through stockists. Durham Animal Feeds is mainly sold through local stockists. Pure (dehydrated) and Tuggs (fresh cooked) deliver on repeat plans but are not raw.

How is a subscription price worked out?

Subscription brands price per dog, not per kg. You enter the dog's weight, age, activity and sometimes body shape, and the brand sets a daily portion and a price per day or per delivery. Two things follow: the quoted price is only as good as the portion behind it, so check the grams against the calculator, and the delivery frequency changes the price, with bigger, less frequent boxes usually cheaper per day.

Can I pause or cancel a raw dog food subscription?

The brands on this page all describe their plans as pausable or cancellable, but the notice period and the cut off before the next box varies, and some charge for the next delivery if you cancel after the cut off. Read the plan terms before the first order and set a reminder for the day before each cut off. Treat an introductory discount as what it is: the ongoing price is the one to compare.

Do I need a freezer for a subscription?

Yes. Deliveries arrive frozen in insulated boxes and a box for a 20 kg dog is 7 to 15 kg of food, so you need the same freezer space as a bulk buy: roughly 15 to 20 litres per month of food for a 20 kg dog. The storage guide has the figures by dog size. Dehydrated food is the exception, which is Pure's main selling point.

What is the cheapest way to get raw dog food delivered?

Order in bulk direct from a brand that charges per kg rather than per dog, so that delivery is spread over 10 or 20 kg. Nutriment at £4.49 a kg in 1.4 kg tubs is the cheapest delivered complete in this comparison, and delivery charges of £5 to £10 per order matter less on a big box. Local stockists avoid delivery altogether, which is why the budget guide points there first.
